Recent surveys suggest that 25% of adults use mobile apps for health care, and 71% of patients in an outpatient psychiatric setting indicated a desire to use an app to supplement their clinical care. The growing ubiquity of smartphones is increasingly making this possible, as a recent report indicated that 79% of smartphone users are with their phones for all bar 2 of their waking hours. For many mental health conditions, the ability to deliver information, support, and intervention outside the clinical setting is a major advantage.
